General description Windsock Turtle is a spacious apartment in the Belnem neighborhood, located in the Windsock Beach Apartments complex. From the balcony you have partial ocean views and with approximately 120 m² of living space there is plenty of room to relax. The beach sits at the foot of a low rock wall, creating a cozy, sheltered feel. It’s a lovely spot for swimming and snorkeling in clear water with plenty of reef fish. Bring your snorkel gear, as there is a nice coral area right offshore. Thanks to its west-facing location, this is also a pleasant place to enjoy the late afternoon sun and colorful Caribbean skies. No dryer – There is no tumble dryer, but laundry usually dries quickly in the warmth and breeze. Belnem has grown into an umbrella name for upscale sub-neighborhoods like La Palma, Sabalpalm, Lima, Punt Vierkant and Playa Esmeralda. Here you are close to popular south-coast beaches such as Bachelor’s Beach and iconic dive sites, ideal for sunsets and relaxed beach life. It’s a quiet residential area with quick routes to the airport and downtown Kralendijk. Getting around Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Windsock Turtle. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port. We enjoyed spotting the birds and iguana's in the tropical foliage . Convenient location. Partial ocean view, easy beach access with beach club across the road. Nice quiet pool to relax. Saw iguanas and prikichi birds every single day. The open layout is beautiful and spacious and the place had everything we needed. We would absolutely stay here again. The walking path to our place was the best part of the entry and exit each day. Easy to access and great location across from snorkeling, beach club and down the street from the road leading to Lac Bay. The inside was wonderful and comfortable. The best kitchen set up we have had with an AirBNB. The balcony was our favorite spot to relax. Thank you for a great stay and we hope to visit again next year. The only thing we didn’t like was the pool, it matched the photos and description but with two young daughters it just wasn’t big enough and we couldn’t see the pool from our apartment, for that reason we won’t stay here again. Near a great beach with very fine sand and very nice snorkeling. By car less than 5 minutes. ( opposite airport) the only downside to everything was the well too small pool. You can not swim. Bit of dipping. We hardly use it but sometimes in between to cool off very small. Otherwise everything absolutely top and satisfactory. Quick response to questions. The reception was good, someone was waiting for us with an explanation of the apartment. There was always space in the parking lot. Almost exclusively sat on the balcony which was very nice. Kitchen and amenities were good, very complete. In the two bedrooms the air conditioning worked well, was good to keep cool. Only downside was that there was a clog in the master bathroom, which took a little longer than desired to act on. Definitely recommended to spend a few weeks on Bonaire! Everything was there so we did not have to go straight to the supermarket. Very thoughtful and attention to details. We felt immediately at home. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the host who was also very relaxed. Apartment was exactly as in the photos and description and everything of great quality. We loved our spacious balcony.
