Dive Friends Port Bonaire is just 50 meters away, and Te Amo Beach or Donkey Beach are just a few minutes' walk away. Supermarkets and other amenities are a short drive away for daily groceries. Finally, the charming town center of Kralendijk, with its famous boulevard, shops, bars, and restaurants, is also a five-minute drive away. Getting around Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Port Bonaire Laguna Reef A101. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port. Guest reviews 9.6/10 5 reviews More info Great unit One week stay in July. Great unit. Highlights: AC in living room, recently updated, Waterview. It is right next to dive friends, Bonaire, and close to airport. But no issue with that, still felt private and was quiet enough. Nicole and Johan were great to work with. Read more 9th Jul 2026 by Marwan Ghabril via Pretty apartment, sea view, noisy surroundings Let’s start with the positive points: the team at Sunwise Bonaire is super friendly, fast, and professional. We were allowed to check in earlier and check out later. The apartment is newly renovated, very bright, and well designed for two people. The shower had great water pressure, the airport was hardly noticeable, and the terrace has a sea view. The complex itself is pleasant, with a nice pool and sun loungers. There were usually around 5–15 people staying there. There is direct access to the sea, and snorkeling is possible as well — not as good as at Andrea I or II, but still a nice overall experience. Our main issues were the large construction site next door. A house is being built, with drilling and hammering from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. This made it impossible to sit outside. In addition, there is a dive school next door that is also noisy and has its boat docked directly in front of the terrace. The staff often look straight into the living room, sometimes even in the evening around 10 p.m. We felt there was too little privacy, and the noise made the terrace almost unusable. Overall, it’s a good apartment, but next time we would choose a different one. For anyone who doesn’t mind a boat in front of the terrace, it could still be a good place to stay. The construction, of course, won’t last forever. It offers plenty of privacy, a shared pool, and a deck with a swim ladder for snorkeling — what more could you need? Air conditioning in both the bedroom and living room, a very spacious refrigerator, a lovely bathroom, and a new kitchen with induction cooking made us truly happy. Everything we needed was there, including a washing machine, which was a pleasant surprise. With hosts Johan and Nicole, we took a short tour, and on departure day we were able to stay all day without any issues until our flight. We will definitely rent with Sunwise again, excellent service and very reliable! Read more 9th Jan 2026 by Dorothea Spijker via A102 We highly recommend staying here. The condo has been totally upgraded and is beautiful. You will enjoy this location near airport, great pool and beach. Best snorkeling from pool and beach. Read more 30th Dec 2025 by Martha Nash via Peace and sea! We love this condo! Have stayed here for years. It is at the end of the compound so it feels so private. No one walking past your porch. Watch the dive boats leave, the pelicans fish, and the turtles bob. The iguanas will have meals with you, too fun.
