This neighborhood is characterized by spacious lots, plenty of greenery and a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for vacationers seeking peace without being too far from all amenities. The location provides easy access to both downtown Kralendijk and Bonaire's natural attractions. Getting around Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Kas Honkie Tonkie. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port. The house is clean and fully equipped, with a beautiful garden featuring a lovely pool to cool off in, and the veranda is perfectly situated offering plenty of shade. The property is located in a nice and quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the center of Kralendijk and the sea. It is also a great central base for exploring the rest of the island. The welcome and contact with Simon and Cecile was very easy and pleasant, both beforehand and on-site. We definitely recommend Sunwise Bonaire! We would love to return to this beautiful island! The house is bright and spacious. Everything was very clean. We also enjoyed the pool. It is about a 20 minute walk to Kralendijk, where it was very pleasant, especially in the evening after the cruise ships leave, many restaurants and bars. Dinner at El Bigote is also highly recommended (only 10 minutes walk from the house). The only thing we missed was a washing machine, but we knew that before. Every day having breakfast outside with the birds, lizards and iguanas around us, great! Kralendijk is easily walkable which is also very nice.
