This challenging hike takes you to the top of Brandaris, Bonaire's highest point at 241 meters elevation. Start early in the morning for the coolest temperatures and count on about 45 minutes of climbing from the parking area to the summit. Make sure you have sturdy hiking shoes and good fitness, as there's light scrambling over rock formations required. Getting around Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Bonaire Beach Apartments 12. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port. If there is a cruise ship in port, your view will be largely blocked (at least in Unit #12.) It is a little noisy in the main living area because lots of motorcycles and other un-muffled cars driving by on main road. However, you can't hear it in the bedrooms when the doors are closed.
