This uninhabited little island lies just off the coast of Kralendijk and is known for its pristine beaches and outstanding snorkeling. Pack a picnic, soak up the peaceful atmosphere, and explore the colorful coral reef right off the shore. It's a fantastic day trip, just a short boat ride from your accommodation. Just so you know Airport nearby — The small airport sits just across the street. Only a handful of planes land each day, so you'll barely notice it. No clothes dryer — Thanks to the sun and the trade winds, laundry on the line usually dries in no time. Parking for 1 pickup or SUV — The parking spot isn't very large and fits 1 large car, pickup, or SUV. You can still park 2 scooters next to it. Villa Laguna Villa 3 3.5 6 The neighborhood Villa Laguna sits in a great, central location. One of the most beautiful beaches, Te Amo Beach, is just a 2-minute drive away — or a 10-minute paddle in the kayaks or on the SUP boards. Supermarkets are a 2-minute drive in the other direction. Within a 5-minute drive, you'll find several trendy resorts and restaurants like Windsock, Delfins Beach Resort, and Ocean Oasis, where you can spend a day relaxing or stop in for lunch or dinner. Sorobon at Lac Bay, a true windsurfing paradise, is a 10-minute drive away. Kitesurfers can head to the southwest side of Bonaire, also a 10-minute drive from Villa Laguna. Getting around Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Villa Laguna. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. We thoroughly enjoyed the villa and Bonaire! The villa truly has everything you need and, in our opinion, is in the perfect location for exploring the island. The canoes, SUP boards and private pool were great! The only downside for us was the window coverings in the bedrooms, which made them very bright. Check-in and check-out were pleasant and flexible. It is also fully equipped with everything you need, but there were some ‘inconveniences’ as well. We found the window coverings very minimal. Only sheer curtains and a bamboo roller blind meant that the bedrooms were very bright. As a result, the day started early, and in the evening there was a lot of light from the advertising signs across the road. This road, Kaya International, causes quite a bit of noise, as does the runway located right in front of the villa. We were of course aware of this, but the amount of air traffic and how early it started were still a little disappointing. The service from Sunwise Bonaire and its hosts, on the other hand, is fantastic! What a treat that, because there was no new booking that day, we were able to stay in the villa on our departure day until it was time to leave for the airport. It is fully equipped with everything you need. There was little to no disturbance from the airport, as there are not many flights. Check-in and check-out were very well organized. The pool is not very large, but perfect for cooling off while sunbathing. The beds are comfortable. At first I thought the mattress might be a bit too soft, but I had a good night’s sleep. The airport is next to the house and you would expect to be bothered by it, but the opposite was true. No disturbance from the airport. The chairs at the long table on the porch are definitely not comfortable nor sturdy. Unfortunately the mattresses on the beds upstairs were not firm, after 10 days got back problems. These are definitely in need of replacement considering the pit in the mattress. Easy contact through the app, in case of questions they respond immediately! Very pleasant! The water villa was lovely, a nice house, pool to ourselves and we could supp and kayak! Had a wonderful stay. Only downside (but that is person dependent) for us were the soft mattresses. But that did not negatively affect our stay! Top vacation. The house is still like new and very cozy. Extra luxury is the air conditioning in the living room, free use of canoes and sup boards, beach chairs and cooler available and a weber bbq. We enjoyed using this which added extra pleasure to our vacation. We had booked 2 houses with Sunwise each for a week and what was very nice is that Sunwise offered us the possibility to switch to the next house right away so we didn't have to drive around with our suitcases and stuff. The pool was surprisingly deep and we spent many hours enjoying it. The house was clean and had everything we needed. It was a bonus to have air-conditioning in the main room on occasion. We had a lot of fun going out on the stand-up paddle boards and see kayaks available on the dock. We paddled out to the ocean and went to the nearby beach. Sunwise Bonaire was fantastic.
