Check availability Sunwise insider tip One of the most rewarding experiences near Casa El Tropico is exploring Bonaire's mangrove forests, best discovered along the shores of Lac Bay. Mangroves are far more than a scenic green border along the waterline: their extensive root systems protect the coastline by absorbing wave energy and trapping sediment, while simultaneously serving as a vital nursery for the ocean. Young fish, sea turtles, and countless other marine species grow up sheltered among the roots. A kayak tour through the mangrove channels is the ultimate way to experience this extraordinary ecosystem up close – gliding silently through a green labyrinth as light filters through the canopy above. An experience you won't soon forget. Just so you know No dryer – There's no clothes dryer, but with Bonaire's reliable sunshine and steady trade winds, laundry dries outside in no time – often within just a couple of hours. Distance to Kralendijk – Sabadeco is set a little outside the center of Kralendijk, but that's precisely what gives this location its quiet, exclusive character. By car, you're just a few minutes from restaurants, shops, and all the activity the town has to offer. No A/C in the living area – The bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning for a cool and restful night's sleep. In the living room, open doors, fans, and the refreshing sea breeze keep things comfortably cool throughout the day. Where you'll stay Please accept preferences-cookies to view this map. Casa El Tropico Villa 3 2 6 The neighborhood Sabadeco is an upscale residential area just north of Kralendijk, known for its elegant villa districts – including Crown Keys and Crown Shores – stretching along the rugged coastline. From this neighborhood, you look out directly over the Caribbean Sea, and popular dive sites such as Andrea I & II are reachable within minutes. Sabadeco is a favorite among those seeking a combination of style and sea views, and the sunsets you catch straight from your terrace are simply breathtaking. Luxury, space, and an immediate coastal experience are what define life here. Getting around Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Casa El Tropico. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port. Guest reviews 9.7/10 20 reviews More info Wonderful holiday home🌴 We had a wonderful holiday on Bonaire and were very pleased with Villa El Tropico. The location is perfect, close to Kralendijk yet peacefully situated in the hills with beautiful views. Check-in and check-out went smoothly, and we were even able to enjoy the villa a little longer than the official check-out time. In short, highly recommended. If we return to Bonaire, this house will definitely be our number one choice. Read more 18th Jul 2026 by Kim Schmidt via Third time on Bonaire — no need to look for another vacation home! We found Sunwise through rental sites and later visited their own website — top rental service. They’re open and helpful with everything. Beautiful Villa El Tropical and a perfect price. Read more 16th Sep 2025 by Davy Linsen via House in Paradise This is our second stay at Casa El Tropico, and as expected, Sunwise Bonaire did not disappoint. The house is clean and spacious. Beds are comfy. Lots of outdoor space to eat or play games. The pool is an added bonus. Not a complaint, but bring mosquito spray...the island has thoes little pests everywhere. 🌺🦩 Read more 27th Jul 2025 by Paula Thomas via Great Family Vacation! We enjoyed our stay at Casa El Tropico! The outdoor gardens were beautiful and we saw hummingbirds, iguanas, and parrots daily. The pool was refreshing after a long day at the beach. The bedrooms all had air conditioning which was necessary for sleep. The master bed was not the best-I had to sleep in the middle as the mattress seemed a bit worn and saggy. Some of us got several mosquito bites so be sure to pack lots of bug spray (you can get it on the island but it is very expensive). We enjoyed our stay on Bonaire very much! The house is fully equipped so you quickly feel at home. A tip; on all bedrooms the mosquito nets (which were really necessary) were too small and do not close well, maybe invest in larger mosquito nets, is also decorative in the style of this tropical house;) Everything else was well organized and smoothly by the Sunwise team, Thank you! We will definitely be back! 🌞 Read more 8th May 2022 by Françoise Slob via Everything was very clean What a great place! It is very cozy and special. The location is second to none. The pool is perfect for the afternoon dive and the friendly fauna made us feel connected to the island. Everything was very clean and well maintained. It also had the charm of a home away from home. Clearly a gem and we are so glad we found it! Will definitely book again when we come back to Bonaire! Read more 7th May 2022 by Sefan Voss via The communication with Sunwise was easy and fast Beautiful quiet place. Great house and the pool came in handy for relaxing in the afternoon. Communication with Sunwise was easy and fast. House is a little bit dated and needs some maintenance. We ourselves did not sleep so well on the beds (but may be personal). Overall, recommended if you do not like a busy resort (like us).
