For divers and snorkelers, the Playa area is a fantastic base thanks to quick access to the west coast dive sites; for foodies and shoppers, this is the place to be. Expect energy, convenience, and the shortest travel times to all the amenities Bonaire's capital has to offer. Getting around Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Turtles Place. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port. Turtles Place is a beautiful apartment close to the airport. All amenities are provided, including a wonderful Nespresso machine with milk frother. Lovely large terrace! Prices for Turtles Place may vary depending on the season, number of guests and so on. Also, there is the last-minute discount we apply for the first 20 days after the booking date. Turtles Place is about 2.3 kilometers, or 1.5 miles from Kralendijk, a 5-minute drive away, where our guests can find the nicest bars, stores and restaurants on the island. How close is the nearest beach to Turtles Place? We recommend that all our guests at Turtles Place rent a car while on Bonaire, and by car, the nearest beach, that of Te Amo, is only a 1-minute drive away, about 850 meters, or 0.5 miles.
